Train to Become a Camp Counselor

Our Counselor in Training program is an exhilarating teen leadership program that perfectly blends all the elements of camp life including administrative jobs, maintenance around camp, leading groups, and playing games with the campers.

Our CIT program provides a hands-on, inside look at the life of a camp. Teens CITs learn first-hand how a good leader performs through the requirement of hard work and service. Our goal is to groom CITs into future camp counselors here at Canaan and more importantly to help them become leaders within our communities.

What makes a good CIT?

  • Counselors in Training have a passion for kids and being outdoors.
  • CITs are willing to work hard and learn a servant’s heart.
  • CITs are committed and present for others.

Each session has a limited number of spots available – 4-10 for Day Camps and 2 for Resident Camps.
