We are looking for qualified staff who understand the awesome responsibility of caring for the safety of children and LOVE working with kids of all ages in an outdoor setting. Being a Canaan Counselor is a very unique opportunity and we take a lot of pride and make a huge investment into the life and well-being of our staff. With only limited positions available, we are recieving applications for new hires from February-March.

Please download a Staff Application and mail, fax or e-mail it back to us no later than March 20. Interviews for the Summer Season will be during April and will only be for approved applicants who receive a call from a Canaan director.

Responsibilities:

• Upholding the mission and vision of Camp Canaan at all times
• Caring for and providing safe programs for campers
  
• Being a positive role model for our campers
  
• Facilitating outdoor programs as well as educational curriculum
  
• Fulfilling basic administrative and maintenance duties
  
• Help plan and facilitate new program initiatives
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum age: 17
• Must have one year of experience in outdoor leadership or teaching
  
• Prefer 1 year of college or technical school
• Family and kid friendly
• Must be responsible, reliable, and a good leader
• Must have First-aid/ CPR training
  
• Must be available for the duration of the summer (June 1- August 13)
