Summer Camp 2019 is Coming!

Thursday, December 6, 2018

Summer Camp 2019 registration begins January 1st at midnight!

We are truly excited about our 2019 camp season!!  The Lord has truly blessed our camp and we have grown tremendously over the past couple of years.  In efforts to grow well, we have combined and tweaked our Day Camp programs. We are excited to announce that we will be combining our Track programs into the normal Day Camp programs!  What this means is, the most popular electives from our Catawba Ventures, Island Escape, and Frontier Camp will be offered as an elective option in our Jr and Sr Day camp programs.  Day Campers will also be able to sign up for an overnight camp out that will include 3 meals for an additional charge.  We’ll also be changing the structure of our Day Camp programs where to have a lower camper to counselor ratio!  There will be an 8:1 camper to counselor ratio in our general elective programs and a 6:1 camper to counselor ratio in our adventure programs. Below, you’ll find some more updates for each of our programs!

Jr. Day Camp –

This year we’ll be combining the most popular activities from Frontier Camp and Jr. Day Camp. An overnight option, new activities and a lower camper to counselor ratio is going to make for an amazing summer!

2019 Dates: June 10 – 14, June 17 – 21, June 24 – 28, July 8 – 12, July 15 – 19,
July 22 – 26, July 29 – August 2, August 5 – 9, August 12 – 16

Sr. Day Camp –

For Summer Camp 2019, Sr. Day Camp will be for ages 9-14! We’ll also be incorporating the most popular activities from Catawba Ventures and Island Escape. Just like in Jr. Day Camp, we’ll also have a lower camper to counselor ratio in our adventure programs!  Based on feedback from you, the parents, we will split the campers up into two age groups:
9-11 and 12-14.

2019 Dates: June 10 – 14, June 17 – 21, June 24 – 28, July 8 – 12, July 15 – 19,

Resident Camps –

Resident Camp will now start on week one of Summer Camp giving us an extra full week of Overnight Camp!

2019 Dates:

Co-Ed Resident Camp: Ages 10-13 – June 9 – 14, July 7 – 12, July 14 – 19, July 21 – 26, July 28 – August 2, August 4 – 9

Journey Resident Camp: Ages 8-9 – June 16 – 21

All Girls Resident Camp: Ages 10-13 – June 23 – 28

Teen Leadership Camp –

Teen Leadership Camp will be seeing an age change to 14-16. We did this to better coincide with our Counselor in Training and Assistant Counselor programs. The TLC program is required to be an Assistant Counselor and is highly recommended before becoming a Counselor in Training.

2019 Dates:

Chattooga Trail – June 15 – 21

Max Patch – June 13 – 19

Grayson Highlands – July 27 – August 2

Counselors in Training –

In conjunction with Sr. Day Camp, the age has been raised on our Counselor in Training program to 15. We believe that allowing a camper to be a part of regular camp programs until they are 14 and then transitioning to our CIT program at 15 will promote leadership qualities and better prepare them to be a counselor in a just a couple of years.

2019 Dates: June 10 – 14, June 17 – 21, June 24 – 28, July 8 – 12, July 15 – 19,

July 22 – 26, July 29 – August 2, August 5 – 9, August 12 – 16

Assistant Counselors –

The important role of the Assistant Counselor has not changed but the age requirements have. Our AC’s will now be between the ages of 16-17. We will allow an AC who is turning 16 during their volunteer time to go ahead and be an AC but if they are still 15 we will ask them to be a CIT for a year before moving forward.

2019 Dates: June 10 – 14, June 17 – 21, June 24 – 28, July 8 – 12, July 15 – 19,

July 22 – 26, July 29 – August 2, August 5 – 9, August 12 – 16
