First Week of Camp at Canaan!
Summer Camp

Summer Returns … Finally!
The once silent island gives way to a rippling roar of campers’ feet and voices, as the first week of Summer Camp at Canaan 2014 begins. Life and color spring from cabin porches and echo down the dirt roads and paths here in the Catawba corridor. Every day when the Canaan bell rings- campers embark on an exciting journey of challenge, fun and friendship- high on the Zipline Canopy tour, swimming in the pool, playing Archery Tag, soccer, basketball; singing and shouting our way through summer days.
Week 1 of camp is in the books and as we embark on week 2 now with our Charlotte and Union County campers with us, we are full throttle here on the island with new activities and camps for everyone!
Check out GaGa Ball pit, Water Olympics, Junior Fields Trips, Paddle Boarding, Wake Boarding our brand new Leap of Faith and so much more!!
Also, our Teen Campers just packed up and out to the NC Mountains to hike the Appalachian Trail, explore Tennessee caves and the massive whitewater of the French Broad River on our June Teen Leadership Camp. Check out TLC July and August for new locations and adventures!
Our theme this summer at Canaan is IDENTITY. As we better know God and how He has fearfully and wonderfully made us, we can better understand who we are and all that He’s made us to be! Our verse for the summer is 2 Corinthians 5:17– “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ they are a new creation; THE OLD IS GONE, THE NEW HAS COME!
Rooted in our vision and mission as a camp and retreat center, we are passionate about helping campers discover the redemptive love of God made possible in the person of Jesus. This summer at Canaan we are talking, playing, zipping, kayaking, paint-balling, eating, hanging out and loving every sun-lit moment of NEW LIFE in CHRIST.
Look forward to seeing you on the Island this summer!
