Summer Camp Counselor

Summer Position

Counselors are the heart of Camp Canaan! Our counselors participate in adventure activities, swim, eat meals, and even sleep in a cabin with their campers. Camp life is structured to provide maximum relationship-building opportunities between counselors and campers, allowing staff to truly pour into and disciple our campers.

Summer Adventure Guide

Summer Position

Spend your summer soaring through the treetops or cruising down the Catawba River! After an intensive 10-day training program, you will be an expert in all of our adventure areas: kayaking, zipline canopy tour, high adventure course, climbing tower, leap of faith, and giant swing. This role is fun, physical, and empowering.

Zipline Canopy Tour Guide

Year-round Position

Canopy Tour Guides are responsible and courteous individuals who are passionate about the outdoors. Guides oversee the safety of participants as they soar from tree to tree through our 9 zip course and over the Catawba River, and provide a dynamic, engaging, and memorable experience. Part-time, flexible scheduling.

Canaan Internship

Year-long Position

Our 12-month internship program is designed to immerse our interns in the Christian camp and retreat industry. Our interns experience all aspects of camp, while also focusing on their area(s) of interest, whether that is creating a brand new program or re-thinking an existing one

We utilize fun and outdoor adventure activities to share the Gospel with campers age 5 to 16. Summer staff live on our 100-acre island in Rock Hill, SC and participate in a variety of adventure activities, like ziplining, climbing, kayaking, and so much more. Many staff count their summers at Camp Canaan as some of their best ever! Here, you’ll find community and build relationships that can last a lifetime.

Summer employment is great for college students in any field of study – the leadership and interpersonal skills you’ll glean at Camp Canaan are universally applicable. Serving as a counselor or guide is especially relevant, of course, for those majoring in camp, ministry, or education. Work with us!

Camp Canaan is open year round! We offer overnight retreats, day events, and adventure activities to groups of all sizes and types, from corporate teams and families on reunion to church youth groups and scout troops. Make a difference by helping people conquer their fears and connect with nature and each other!
