Responsibilities & Qualifications
Camp Canaan’s Zipline Canopy Tour provides guests with the opportunity to soar high above the forest floor and over the Catawba River as they navigate an intricate network of cables and skybridges. Our Full Tour encompasses nine zips, our Bootleg Tour includes five of those zips, and our Night Zipline Tour lets our guests do it all at night!!

What We Seek
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely facilitates high adventure activities at Camp Canaan
- Ensures operations are in accordance with ACCT and Camp Canaan safety standards
- Conducts daily inspections of equipment and activity area
- Properly fits all guests in safety equipment (i.e.: PFD, Harness, Helmet, etc)
- Delivers exemplary customer service to all guests
- Conducts pre-trip orientations
- Provides information about the course, ecology, and history
- Performs rescues, as needed, in the activity area
- Helps with course enhancement and maintenance as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18
- At least one year of college or technical school preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in guiding adventure tours preferred
- Must pass initial guide training
- Must pass a monthly skills assessment
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications or willing to obtain upon hire
- Responsible, reliable, courteous; solid judgment skills
- Ability to effectively speak in front of large groups
- Ability to communicate and work as an effective team member
- Ability to work long hours and irregular shifts in a multi-task environment
- Ability to learn new skills and apply feedback as given
- Must speak fluent English
- Family- and kid-friendly: experience working with kids preferred
Required Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work at height
- Ability to perform technical rescues associated with canopy tour, high ropes course, and water-based rescues, as required
- Ability to walk and stand for a long periods of time in all weather conditions
- Full range of overhead arm motion; strength to pull two people along the cable
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Competent swimmer
