Weekend Retreats for Groups
Camp Canaan offers weekend getaways unlike any other retreat center in South Carolina! Located just 25 miles south of Charlotte, NC, we cater to groups of all sizes seeking adventure and fun – from school groups and family reunions to church youth groups, scout troops, and other organizations. Relax and unplug in the great outdoors!
Facilities
Pick the accommodations that best suit your group. We have three, modern, climate-conditioned bunkhouses with indoor bathrooms, showers, tankless water heaters, laundry facilities, and dedicated gathering spaces – no roughing it here! Great for children and adults.
The Cabins
Max Capacity: 72 Guests
The Tulip Poplar and Long Leaf Pine cabins each accommodate 36 people – 18 people per side – for a total of 72 guests. Connecting interior doors give occupants access to bathrooms and showers. Front porches provide ample seating and ping-pong tables for recreation.
The Lodge
Max Capacity: 64 Guests
Our newest bunkhouse, the A&J Lodge, accommodates 64 guests in total. Divided into four discrete lodging areas, each side sleeps 16 people and has bathrooms and showers. Spacious indoor common spaces are ideal for socializing and hosting meetings. Includes WiFi.
Multi-Purpose Building
Max Capacity: 72 Guests
Known as the “MP,” this 1,200 sq. ft. Multi-Purpose building features reclaimed hardwood floors from a 1920s cotton factory and exposed beams sourced from The Island. Spacious front and back porches extend the warm, inviting space to the outdoors.
Covered Basketball Court
Max Capacity: 140 Guests
Our covered Basketball Court features 5 basketball goals, a stage, ceiling fans, and a beautiful view of Lake Canaan. Perfect for sports or events, it can transform into a space for meetings or meals with tables and chairs for up to 140 guests.

Event Coordinator
Your personal coordinator will help you plan beforehand and be available throughout your stay to assist with catering and meals, transitions between activities, and answer questions.

Multi-Purpose Building
The “MP” is well-equipped for meetings and meals. Includes a warming kitchen, hot beverage station, free WiFi, and a whiteboard. A/V and projector available to rent.

Island Access
One hundred peaceful acres, three miles of walking trails with riverside benches, in-ground stone fire pit, ping pong tables, corn hole boards, GaGa ball pit, playgrounds.

Sports Field Access
Basketball courts, sand volleyball, kickball, and soccer fields are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some sports equipment is available for use or bring your own.

Disc Golf Course Access
Sixty holes on two top-notch Innova-designed Disc Golf courses! The Sandhills Course is 20 holes and the Riverbend Course has 20 holes with two sets of tees.
