Canaan School Care

School Care - The Canaan Way!

Canaan is excited to announce that we have designed a program to support our camp families navigate life with the new A/B school schedule!

Many schools have gone to an A/B schedule or even completely virtual. This has left parents wondering how they can still work yet make sure that their kids are cared for! We have decided to open a program that runs Monday through Friday to fill this need. The various school districts in the surrounding areas have chosen to have different A/B days so our solution is to offer programming one day at a time.

This program is for Kindergarten through 8th grade with students being broken up into groups accordingly. The school work portion of the day will be hosted in our Multipurpose Building. Students will be seated four to a table with a Plexiglas divider between them. Students will also be required to wear a mask while they are in the building and to bring the needed school materials, such as laptops, notebooks, pencils, and paper etc.

Our staff will work with your students to support them in completing their school assignments. After speaking with representatives from the school system, the days that the students are not in school are designed to reinforce what they have learned in the classroom. With the aid of parents, students will need to share what work is needed to be completed each day so that our staff can ensure that they are staying on track.

After spending the first part of the day working on school assignments and enjoying lunch, Canaan will host your children for what we do best, HAVING FUN ON THE ISLAND!!

Kids build their own kites.
