Many schools have gone to an A/B schedule or even completely virtual. This has left parents wondering how they can still work yet make sure that their kids are cared for! We have decided to open a program that runs Monday through Friday to fill this need. The various school districts in the surrounding areas have chosen to have different A/B days so our solution is to offer programming one day at a time.
This program is for Kindergarten through 8th grade with students being broken up into groups accordingly. The school work portion of the day will be hosted in our Multipurpose Building. Students will be seated four to a table with a Plexiglas divider between them. Students will also be required to wear a mask while they are in the building and to bring the needed school materials, such as laptops, notebooks, pencils, and paper etc.
Our staff will work with your students to support them in completing their school assignments. After speaking with representatives from the school system, the days that the students are not in school are designed to reinforce what they have learned in the classroom. With the aid of parents, students will need to share what work is needed to be completed each day so that our staff can ensure that they are staying on track.
After spending the first part of the day working on school assignments and enjoying lunch, Canaan will host your children for what we do best, HAVING FUN ON THE ISLAND!!
Students will be broken up into age groups and participate in age-appropriate programs. These activities include anything from team sports, adventure activities, water activities (weather permitting), and more. Many of the activities your children know and love from Summer Camp will be included in our School Care Program!
**We are now open for the Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Lancaster and York School Districts!.
We are not offering a late stay option. Pickup ends at 5:30pm. Families will incur a $10 late charge per 15 minutes past the pickup time.
Currently, we are planning to offer this program until Students go back to school full time. However, we need 20 students to run this program.
Yes, all students will need to wear masks while indoors.

At our Multi-purpose building (MP). Cross the bridge, fork right, go straight ahead for 500 feet, loop around the tree, and drop-off at the green building. Your child’s temperature will be taken from the car before they exit your vehicle.
Go back to the Multi-purpose building (MP), but instead of going around the loop, you’ll park in the parking on your left that’s directly before the building. Then you can walk to the front porch of the MP to sign-out your child.
