Matt Hunt has long had a passion for helping others step out of their comfort zone. As Program Director, he helps groups have incredible adventures on The Island, whether that’s playing on the High Adventure Course, riding the Zipline Canopy Tour, or kayaking down the Catawba River.

Before joining the Camp Canaan family in 2019, Matt spent considerable time working and training on challenge courses – including eight years as summer camp director at a camp in Virginia. Originally from Charleston, SC, Matt and his college-sweetheart wife Beth are enjoying raising their two children, Graham and Lily, in their home state.

Matt earned his B.S. in Outdoor Experiential Education from North Greenville University.
