Austin Nachtigal

Austin joined the Camp Canaan team in January 2026 as the Operations Assistant. Originally from Papua New Guinea, a small country in the Pacific, Austin loves camp ministry because it provides an opportunity to see the eternal destinies of boys and girls changed by the gospel. For Austin, glorifying the Lord is what it’s all about, and he loves getting to do ministry while having fun and working alongside good friends.

Austin’s favorite part of Canaan is building things. Whether it’s benches, water bottle racks, zipline platforms, or something completely new, he enjoys creating things that can be used and make life easier for the people serving at camp.

For Austin, following Jesus means being sold out for Christ because of His love demonstrated on the cross, obeying Him, and making that love known to those around him. Outside of camp, Austin enjoys playing disc golf and woodworking, with occasional road trips around the country.
