Isaac Walkup

Isaac started working at Canaan in the summer of 2026 as the Assistant Director/Day Camp Director. He grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. His favorite activity at Canaan is the High Adventure Course.

Isaac loves camp ministry because it puts people in an environment that breaks their normal habits and allows them to have unique and unfamiliar experiences, make new connections you would not have found before, discover who they are, and learn to rely on and fully trust in God. Outside of camp, he loves rock climbing, backpacking, playing guitar, and playing video games.

To Isaac, camp ministry is a place where people can step outside of what is familiar, experience new things, build meaningful connections, and discover who they are. He believes these experiences can help people learn to rely on and fully trust in God.

When asked what following Jesus means to him, Isaac says, “Putting my complete faith and trust in him, that his plan is greater than anything I could conjure, and to honor him by trying to live my life in a way that allows him to be glorified.”
