Amanda Cassidy

Amanda began working at Camp Canaan in February 2025 on the Hospitality/Hosting team. Originally from Spartanburg, SC, Amanda’s love for Canaan spurred from her son’s experience here. He was embraced and loved for exactly how God created him. He would come across the bridge and it was home to him. Amanda began to desire to serve the place he loved, and when she was offered a job, she said yes because she believes in this ministry and in her role on the Hospitality team longs to be Jesus to all she encounters.

Amanda loves camp ministry because there are so many ways to serve and love others exactly how God has created them, while also having the opportunity to share Jesus with them as He gives her opportunity. Her favorite activity at Canaan is walking down the long dirt path, enjoying nature, and praying over the camp. Outside of camp, Amanda enjoys family life, baking, hiking, being outdoors, drinking lots of coffee, and camping.

For Amanda, following Jesus means He is her Savior who pulled her out of the miry pit of hell and set her feet on solid ground. He is her Shepherd who has guided her down the paths of life as they’ve curved and given her the incredible opportunity to deepen her relationship with Him. He is her refuge when she feels alone and not enough.
